New decade, new look; an outlook on the future of the bridging market

Last year was certainly one of the most turbulent in terms of the political landscape, but turbulence was not the word of the year at Interbridge. We spent 2019 planning, looking forward and putting the crucial foundations in place for continued growth in 2020 and beyond, as we emerge from protracted political uncertainty.

Many lenders talk about record-breaking years, but that is not our mantra; we are about making bridging accessible for the many and not the few. In particular for those intermediaries looking to diversify from traditional residential mortgages into the much broader specialist lending arena, giving a further value add to their clients, especially those already dabbling in investment property or those that are self-employed. We are excited about a new year, a new decade and a bold new Britain that is spoken about from those on high. Here is what we will do to start the year with a bit of a bang so that we can write more bridging loans and create more opportunities for your business and your borrowers...

New product launches

We have given our product range a refresh, giving brokers and intermediaries more granularity in what our products can do and from there, where our pricing is likely to be. Bespoke bridging is crucial and our new refresh recognises that, but we felt it important to provide greater transparency on those more standard deals.

It is great to be able to announce to FIBA Members that we will also be launching our new Development Finance product in Q1, giving Members more options in this growing market. The product will be unique, and will differ from many currently available, so please register with us and be amongst the first to learn about this exciting new initiative.

Our people and approach

The team at Interbridge continues to grow and we plan on making further announcements early in the new year. We have carefully selected our new recruits who have that blend of experience and motivation and share our values and understand the needs of brokers and intermediaries. We are an ethical lender that provides fast and reliable bridging loans, underpinned by solid relationships with our intermediaries and their borrowers.

New look

Overall, 2020 will bring lots of opportunity for intermediaries and we expect continued growth in the bridging market as competition grows and as the UK short term lending market continues to evolve. Yes, new lenders may come, and existing lenders may go, but bridging is resilient and history has demonstrated this. We are ready to help you embrace the opportunities that lie ahead, creating a new brand, launching a new and more informative website with a refreshed product range, and we look forward to sharing them with you as we work in partnership over the course of this year and beyond.
